[7.004] HTTP Proxy SLOW

Hardware:
AMD Athlon 3500+
2GB DDR RAM
10000RPM SATA Disk

Running the proxy in transparent mode.
Antivirus scanning off
IDS off
One default surf protection profile.

Although the system works, web browsing is MUCH slower than under 6.034

Any clues or is this normal behavior?
CPU running at 10-20% load.

All I can surmise about the http proxy "performance improvements" included in v7.004 are that they are junk. I'm experiencing slow and crashing proxies across my customer base. v7.003 was stable. Downgrade if you can or preferably rollback to 6.3.

I can go back to 6.034... Looks like I will have to unless this can be resolved...

Major performance problems and SMTP config issues.

I would have thought the hardware would have made it VERY fast.. but no.

You definitely have enough hardware. Perhaps you can get Astaro engineers to log into the system to troubleshoot?
