I'm attempting to get non-browser applications working in anything other than transparent mode. I've failed.
For instance, just for fun, let's look at the Boinc client. This is a utility that manages volunteer distributed CPU work from a collection of sitest including Climateprediction.org and SETIathome(.berkeley.edu).
If I use Basic User Authentication or Active Directory SSO as methods of authentication, I can get browsers to work but nothing else. For the boinc client I get only Http authentication failures. For the proxy settings on the boinc client I've tried local astaro accounts as well as the active directory account for Win users that correctly authenticate via browsers.
Can anyone assist in troubleshooting this problem?
