ASG V7, itunes, and podcasts

Using my ASG V7 system, I am able to access the itunes store from my Windows PC, but I am unable to download any podcasts. The list of available podcasts is updating fine, but none of them are downloading. Any ideas?

As a side note, I've discovered that even though I'm running in transparent mode, I have to tell my boxes to point to the proxy explicitly or https and other protocols don't work. Could this be related?

I've noticed that the URLs that seem to be giving me fits are generally like this:

http://chkpt.zdnet.com/chkpt/1pcast.bole.041707/http://podcast-files.cnet.com/podcast/cnetbuzz_041707.mp3

I've added both chkpt.zdnet.com and podcast-files.cnet.com to the transparent mode skiplist for my HTTP proxy to try to get around the ASG for these files, but iTunes still times out. It uses the same settings as MSIE, so I've plugged this exact URL into IE and it does ultimately download, though either very slowly or all-at-once.

Could I still be missing some piece to get this working properly?

I download about 20 different podcasts (some of them video) with no problem. I suspect that you are using the dual scan for viruses in the Http proxy. Try going to single scan and see if that helps.

One of the more direct ones now downloads fine, but those that redirect still don't and I'm not sure how to fix this.

You will need packet filter rules for https etc if you are using the http proxy in transparent mode. The http proxy in transparent mode will only handle port 80.

I have a "default access" rule:

Internal (Network) -> Any, protocol: Any, allow

Which I had thought ought to cover this situation.
