Categorisation errors

Over the last couple of days I have noticed an increasing number categorisation of errors on web pages.

Is there a timer in the process that causes a null or too slow return to cause a fail return? My line utilisation (less than 20%) is not that high and my CPU load (less than 2%) way down.

    looks like firefox issue[:@]. It isn't happening in IE 7.

    I have the latest version of firefox v2[:@], it downloaded a couple of days ago.

    I have tried to download a 146mb file a number of times and each a time categorisation error caused the download to abort.
    1/. at 24mb
    2/. at approx 80mb
    3/. 96mb
    4/. 118mb
    5/. 84mb

    Each time it passed the virus checker okay.

    This was using IE 7.

    I just started getting Categorization errors this evening. I'm using IE7 and the error is only temporary because if I click on the link that is on the error page (the link that is listed as the page it couldn't categorize) then I'm taken to the page I was trying to access in the first place. I'm not sure what the problem is, but I got tired of it so I turned off my HTTP proxy for now. I'm almost positive it's not a hardware problem because my CPU usage hovers around 12% and my Memory usage is about 25%.

    It has nothing to do with CPU or memory utilisation, but lots to do with link utilisation.
    A highly utilised link means many lookup failures, which in my opinion means the  logic behind the test is wrong, it should give the benefit of the doubt on a no response (timer set too short) as distinct from failing on a negative response.

    The new content filter Database is very bad.

    Because there are a lot of categorisation faults, nearly every new site.
    There is only one user(me) testing web security with SSO. Using a ADSL 6000/512.

    Second: There are to much uncategorised websites. (updates.astaro.com, etc. ....)

    Astaro user since 2001 - Astaro/Sophos Partner since 2008
