The cornerstone utility for SuSE and OpenSuSE's updating is the online updater piece.
I find that if I use Active Directory Authentication, Astaro will break all attempts for SuSE to update itself. Even after adding all exceptions for the updater repositories, something in Astaro is preventing this very important security function.
By running top on the ASL(7.002) box itself I can see the processor gets pounded to 40-50% while SuSE is attempting the updates.
Actually I see that the confd package is taking up 30+ % of cpu utilization eve when I'm not attempting to update a SuSE box.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what might be going on?
Temporary glitch?: Currently the processor is pegged:
gen_inline_repo is taking all processor resources 89%
Moments later multiple instances of confd are the primary culprits.
This system seems unstable.
How this might be related to Active Directory authentication is beyond me.
