Need HTTP Proxy Exception for iTunes

I have Astaro v7.002. HTTP Proxy Basic User Authentication is setup, but iTunes on my Mac won't refresh the podcasts. To get it to work I defined a host with the MAC's IP address. Then I added this host to HTTP > Advanced > Skip Transparent Mode Hosts. iTunes works, but now there is no user authentication on my Mac. I think it would be better to put in iTunes as an HTTP exception. Should this work? If so, how can I figure out what the settings should be when i build the exception. Will the log files help me. If so, what exactly do I look for in the logs.

Can anyone help with this? Can I look at the logs to see what itunes packets are being blocked. If so, what logs to I look at.

Can you not configure iTunes to correctly use the http proxy?
Or is no one authenticating first?

I have basic user authentication enabled. On my mac network setup window there is a section for proxies. I enabled HTTP and HTTPS proxy and entered the IP for astaro box and port 8080. You can also enter your proxy usename and password, which I did. But it still doesn't work.

I redid the Proxy setup in my Mac Network setup screen and it works now.

it appears to go off line regularly or was for a while. One of my son's was forever complaining about the ASG blocking iTunes. I investigated all the logs and couldn't find any reference.

Looks like iTunes have fixed what ever their problem was.
