HTTP 1.1 byte range request

I'm using ASG v7.0 and have been having an issue with a MS Media Center Edition 2005 Guide Update. It appears that the http proxy can not be modified to allow for byte range requests. The following thread from 2006 discussed the problem but no one seemed too concerned.

This has become a major issue, because the only way I could get a MCE  Guide update to work, was to add the MCE PC to the Web Security ... HTTP ... Advanced ... Skip Transparent Mode Hosts/Nets. I had previously added the known websites that this process uses to update in the HTTP Exceptions list and skipped all checks. This did not allow it to work.

Anyone have a suggestion?

    Open up a trouble ticket with Astaro.

    IMO if Astaro insists on downloading the entire content just so they can content scan it, they should just deliver the HTTP Range that is requested.

    There are so many different ways that someone could get a virus through the proxy even without range requests, I don't see the point in disallowing them.
