Proxy Profiles will not start

Hello,

I am having a problem starting defined Proxy Profiles.  I have created these but each has a 'red light'.  Pressing the 'green light' causes the light to turn green and red almost instantly.  Has there been an issue in 7.001 that has since been resolved?  I can't get Up2Date to run either (another thread).

Can someone point me to log file that will help me troubleshoot>  I loaded 7.001 from scratch when 7.000 suffered the same issue.  Restarts have proved fruitless.

    It seems that I cannot assign a filter to a defined Proxy Profile.  This is probably why I cannot start the profile.  Has anyone seen these symptoms before?

    Does you licence allow you to use the http proxy?

    Hi Ian,

    That is an interesting question.  I was able to create user profiles in V6 to protect my kids from certain sites and the grown-ups with less.  I presume that my license for V7 will offer the same functionality.

    I can enable HTTP proxy - it is the Profiles that I cannot enable.

    I had the same problem. Use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer until bug fixed by Astaro Team.

    That was it!

    I downloaded FireFox, installed and I was able to configure and enable my Proxy Profiles.

    which versions of IE are you using?
    ASG webadmin gui will definitely work with IE7, will work with IE6, but not 100% and all versions of Firefox from 1.5 onwards.

    I am using both IE6 and IE7 and tried to configure it from different workstations inside my environment. I have installed 3 times ASG from scratch on a pilot environment until realise that the problem was the internet browser. 

    And the problems do not stop here with IE. I cannot see the web reports page, and I get too many invalid requests from HTTP proxy if I use IE. With firefox everything works correctly. The bad thing with me, is that in my network environment everybody uses IE.

    FWIW  ... Firefox on MAC OSX has issues ... we are using IE6 and disable POPUP Blocker .. so far no probs  Firefox on SuSe 10.2 is OK as well ..

    I downloaded Firefox this morning and this feature worked.  Not sure about the rest just yet.

    I was pulling my hair out on this.  ASG does use some fancy code for the GUI and I am not surprised that there are some browser related issues.
