Active Directory authentication problem

Can someone tell me how to check in SBS 2003 std server as to whether is in mixed mode or native mode? I have heard the active directory authentication has to be compatible with win2000 mixed mode to work. I can't my system to connect to the AD. says Error while attempting to join the domain: Unable to find a suitable server Unable to find a suitable server

It is on the same subnet.

Did you fill in the Pre windows 2000domain name??
microsoft in stead of microsoft.com

I verified the server is setup in Native mode, so it's not going to work with v6. BUT I just tried it with the 7.0 release and it "appears" to be working well. I'll just worry about adding it after we upgrade in Q3.
