I've got a p3 900 with 1GB ram running astaro. We've just moved our proxy server to the astaro box.
I am trying to get an evaluation license for the web content filters from astaro can someone advise on the overhead of running these content filters?
I am using the URL blacklisting method now and with a cf_profile file of over 25000 lines the squid server takes an age to start. It runs dog slow and eats up 800MB ram straight away.
Reducing that file to one with 3000 entrys results in a very swift proxy.
No real suprise I know, but what performance hit can I expect from the content filter method.
