FTP Proxy Problem

I´ve got an ASG with 5.212.
HTTP Proxy is running in Standard Mode. FTP and FTP-CONTROL are also allowed Services.

On my Windows Clients in the MS IEs Internet Options the Astaro is set as Proxy. "Use same Proxy for all protocols is selected". In TCP/IP Configuration Astaro is also set to Default Gateway (is needed for other services like ELSTER)

HTTP Access is working fine. But if I try to access any FTP-Site I get no connect. Packets are dropped by packet filter. If I define any other host than Astaro as Default gateway or define no gateway FTP-Access works fine.

I could define a packet filter rule for FTP-Access and access the FTP-sites without Proxy. But it think it should also work via Proxy.

Has anyone an idea to solve this problem?

    Im having this problem too. But Im new to Astaro and kind of stupid.

    I even add an any/any filter for FTP and I still cant get FTP to work, though after some wrestling I was able to get the standard http proxy to work after making the same browser settings you did (default to same proxy for all).

    I suspect there is a bug in the ftp (proxy) download manager. I thought it was something I had done wrong.

    Squid sent the following FTP command: 

    RETR 6.302.tar.gpg
    and then received this reply 
    Failed to establish connection.This might be caused by an FTP URL with an absolute path (which does not comply with RFC 1738). If this is the cause, then the file can be found at ftp.astaro.com/.../6.302.tar.gpg."


    How to fix it, looks like more in depth reading of the manual.

    You should make sure that the "Folder view" in the Internet settings of Internet Explorer is not set, as this will (try to) bypass the proxy for ftp.

    Thank you, I will try your suggestion and see what happens. I have the similar problems with firefox 2 in XP, but under mandriva 2007 (both 32 and 64 bit) works fine.
