FTP Acces Denied

Hi

I have my users here browsing the internet via astaro configured as proxy. I need to make them able to browse ftp's and every time type the ftp address a popup comes out saying that the proxy is only allowing it to be read only, and then when I click ok, I get to a page that says 

Acces Denied: access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time.

i have allowed the users to run the ftp service... if i configure the astaro as gateway, the ftp works fine... it is supposed to show me a popup where I specify user and password, but as proxy, that popup never appears.

what can i do?

    What ftp client are you using?
    Have you told it you're using a http-style proxy?

    You might try disabling the proxy for ftp, and then making sure you have packetfilter rules to allow FTP traffic.

    I'm not using any client. We are ftp'ing via Explorer only... 

    I had double checked if the ftp service was allowed in the packetfilter rules, and it was allowed.

    I have a similar problem.

    Using a standard browse (firefox) I browse to : http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/6/i386/iso/ to download myself FC6.

    I am authenticated as a super-admin on the proxy with zero restrictions on my profile (not that I can see anywhere to restrict FTP on a user/user basis).

    I click on the DVD ISO link and get : Access Denied.
    This means that:  Access control configuration prevents your request from being allowed at this time. Please contact your service provider if you feel this is incorrect.

    I have the FTP proxy enabled (and have tried it disabled).  I have a packet filter defined as : Internal Network -> Any-> FTP

    Any ideas?
