Windows OneCare Anti-Virus Update Problem.

I am evaluating Windows OneCare and I am having a problem. When the software calls for the anti-virus update, it is being blocked by the FW. When it makes its call for an update, it does use HTTPS. The update fails and the only way I can get the PC's to update is to set them to bypass the proxy. I have contacted MS about this and I have the URL that is being used. I have added that to the whitelist but it still fails. I have also created a host for the IP address of this URL and allowed an HTTPS connection to the PC via the packet filter. That also fails.

I would like to use this program but I of course need to get the Astaro problem fixed first!

What am I missing here? I would appreciate any advice! Frustrating!

    Don't blame Astaro for it, thats an old older oldest problem from ms. MS won't work too good with proxy, so you normaly have to use packetfilter for it. Even if you tell the MS device that it should use a proxy, it still trys to talk directly to the UPDate servers. 

    Check the packetfilter logs for the ip the server is talking to, and open https for those targets.

    Thanks - no I was not blaming Astaro as the problem. I think this FW is the best - bar none!

    Windows Update works just fine - I am just trying to see if I have missed something in configuration. 

    I have contacted MS to ask the IP Address(s) that I need to allow HTTPS via the packet filter.

    We will see what they come back with!
