Proxy authentication

Hi,
We are trying to replace our BorderManager with Astaro Security Manager.
We would like our HTTP proxy to run in "User authentication" mode, so we tested it against eDirectory and everything runs fine.
However, the problem is that every time a user initiates an "Internet Explorer" session to external site there is a proxy authentication prompt. That is pretty annoying because, even though you can save your password, you still have to press "OK" every time you start "Internet Explorer".
Is there a way to automatically pass username and password to the proxy? For example, by using credentials from Novell Client... Or could we just somehow "tell" the "Internet Explorer" to automatically use username and password without prompting.
We tried the "Automatic logon with current username and password" setting and it doesn't work.
Thanx

  • Astaro is releasing a new version of Astaro Security Gateway software, Version 6.2, tomorrow.. it's main features are Single Sign On for Novell, etc... a bunch of Novell stuff.  While I generally don't deal with Novell at all, it sounds like exactly what you're looking for.  Check for it Monday via Up2Date, and try it out.
