[ERR 009] Failed to start Virus Scanner. Please re

Hi all,

since yesterday midnight one of my firewalls, which runs under 4.030 send this message:

[ERR 009] Failed to start Virus Scanner. Please repeat Pattern Up2Date

I tried to repeat Pattern Up2Date, but I am told there are no new patterns.

So i deleted all files in .../Bases and uploaded the Pattern again, but no success.

Even rebooting the system didn't help.

/sbin/init.d/av-scanner restart only gives:  'failed'

Any ideas?

    Hi, 

    finally I found a 2 year old thread which helped me solve the problem.

    I deleted the files /usr/lib/kaydaemon/exiscan.htg, .../exiscan.htx and .../exiscan.atom.bin (all with date of feb18) and restarted the scanner.
    Now it stated "OK"

    Hi Walter,

    same prob here with our asl (4.029) since friday (without changing anything in our config).

    I´ve contacted astaro support and only suggestion  was to install newest update (4.030) - which I´ve installed saturday night - and restart pattern up2date. Without success.

    Your solution worked fine! Thx alot! :-)
    (one note: folder is /usr/lib/kavdaemon ;-)
