Scanning jpg files appears to have vanished

I was alerted to a possible threat (new) of virii being downloaded via jpegs, so I thought I had better enable the scanner.
Well I searched all the menus, read the on-line help, no mention of it anywhere, any ideas as to when it was removed?

I assume jpegs are now scanned by default?

This is probably thru the new WMF exploit in Windows... nasty it is.. can't be detected by most AV scanners anyways... check out the ISC diary for the best information..

Happy New Year !!!

I'm using v6.102. There is the same problem I noticed.We can't display some jpg files that is important for our boss. NSM is blocking them. how can i stop to scan jpg files?

I would be very wary of unblocking jpegs that the system thinks are bad. There is a new and nasty exploit of MS WMF files which can be disguised as jpegs and MS reads them okay, where as other applications that actually check files headers against suffix don't.

My issues was I wanted to scan these files, but that function now appears to be the default action, so I am happy.
