Why can't I use FTP????

You have to setup a packet filter rule allowing you FTP.
Like
Source: Intranet (or your PC)
Service: FTP
Destination: Any

It will not work via HTTP Proxy. There you can only use FTP over HTTP, like your Browser is doing.
A "real" FTP-Client need a "real FTP rule

i've prepared a ruleset for FTP:
Source: my client
Service: FTP
Destination: Any

on my client i use ws_ftp le, but it won't work.
any idea?

Internal Network -> Source translation: Masq_external -> Dest. translation: none

Try using Passive mode on your FTP Client instead of active mode. There should be a place to set this in WS_FTP.

in the Paketfilter livelog there is no entry for ftp from client to any.

in ws_ftp i can choose some firewall types like:
SITE hostname
USER after logon
Proxy OPEN
Transparent
USER with no Logon
USER fireID@remotehost
USER remoteID@remoteHost fireID
USER remoteID@fireID@remoteHost

what do you think about? 
i had tried all of them with user from domain (W2K Active Directory and local Users from ASG). but anyway don't work...

ich will dir ja nicht zu nahe treten, aber  wie wärs mal mit hanbduch lesen.. und da in letzter zeit immer mehr posts in dieser form kommen, wird es langsam etwas lästig...


erst fragen und dann denken is ein wenig scheisse...
