Downloading issues with Proxy.

I turned off / on the Clam antivirus and the problem was solved for me (so far).

we're considering upgrading from ASL 5.209 to the newest 6.X-version. Do those downloading "issues" still exist in ASL v6.104?

yes, 6.104 is still faulty in this case. our workaround is to stop and start the http proxy.

Our reseller told us, this problem occurs with ASL 6.104 if it runs on a multi-processor-machine. Do you have a more than one processor in your ASL-machine?

How often do you have these downloading issues, and how many users do you have?

I had Qos on,
Also I have HT processor on my workstation. I disabled it to single processer mode.But the problem still exist.
I'm in a very bad situation in my company because of this problem.  I must save my proactivity over my position!!!
 I hope the next update fixes this issue!

I getting this error when I cannot get web pages through the HTTP Proxy with Virus and Spyware filters turned on. If I stop and start the HTTP Proxy all is well again. Does this mean I lost contact with Cobion?

Yes, 217.71.193.11 is "Orange Web Services, S.L." in Spain. That must be one of the Cobion-Servers, because it's using Port 6000.
 Distracting background-info: The product we're talking about used to be called "Cobion OrangeBox". Cobion has been bought by ISS, now it's called "ISS Proventia Web Flter".

When our Astaro-Machine (running ASL 5.210) has this problem, we don't get damaged downloads, but ASL 5.x says "Content blocked" and claims the requested URL belongs to the taboo-categories Alcohol, Sects, Gambles, Computer Games, Toys, etc. All other URLs can be accessed without problems. (if "www.xyz.com/index.html" is blocked, I can still access "www.xyz.com/index2.html" and everything else on xyz.com)

I have had a TON of issues with those  cobion servers located in Spain.. the ONLY solution was to edit a XSL file from SSH to eliminate that subnet.. .those servers timed out all the time... but it only happened on Astaros behind certain ISPs (I have about 10 customers running these, only 2 are affected, my ISP and 1 customer's ISP, though I don't think it's the ISP on this end's problem, after much research).  If you have support, I suggest calling them and mention editing out the offending lines, cause if you do it on your own, they have the option of voiding your support.  If you do not have any support (even Silver), then let me know, and I'll post the procedure.  I have asked, and suggest that you ask, support to implement a feature in the future that would allow an Admin to easily select / deselect the cobion servers they use, along with a way to change the bahaviour of the proxy if a server cannot be reached.

Simple... if you look in the content filter logs, you'll see where the cobion servers in question time out... one needs to edit the text file under SSH to stop searching there... as of today, Astaro support has no real answer for me as to why these servers are even an issue... anyhow, call support and delete the offensive values in the approptiate .xsl file.

Tried to download a debian ISO Image, about 4.4 GB. When the ASG Downloader will start it shows the following:

Downloading 0 kb of 2097151 kb at a speed of 0 kb/s

just, 2GB and the file could not be loadet.

Seems like I read somewhere on the net that Squid has a 2048MB file download size limit... I think I read that in the docs for Squid.  You will probably have to bypass the proxy for that download.

Sorry, I didn't get that. One needs to edit what file and one has to change what exactly in that file ? I am a testing the ASG (6.106 now) since a couple of weeks now. Downloading is almost impossible. Restarting the proxy from time to time is not a production level solution. Our customers need reliability. Switching off the content filter and virus scanning makes ASG kind of redundant. Can I have clear instructions on how to remedy this problem ?
