Downloading issues with Proxy.

We upgraded from v5.207 to v6.1 last week.  This has solved many outstanding little issues we had and given us many new functionalities.  However, it has also introduced one massive problem.

Large downloads that go through the proxy are corrupt.  Unlike some other reports on this board, the files still appear to be the correct size, but they just don't work.  I get errors like " is not a valid Win32 application" or other file-specific errors.  If I bypass the proxy, the downloaded files are perfect in every way.

I have attempted disabling the Virus Protection for Web, but this has not helped.  Has anyone else run into this issue?  Is this a known issue?  How do I fix it?  Users are ready to kill me!!!

Hi,

this was a known issue with 6.100 and we also ran into this problem.
Version 6.101 should solve it. I made a few tests and it worked, but I have no response of other users in our net, whether it solved all download problems.

hi,
the problem is stil in 6.101. a workaround is, to stop and start the http-proxy. after this it works for a (short) time. but our user are also very angry.

The fix did not go through the QA at the time when 6.102 was released. We are currently finishing tests for the fix and it will definitively be in 6.103. Thanx for your patience.

I'm in a weird situation now where most users are having no issues downloading large files through the proxy while a very small amount of them are continuing to have issues. Has anyone experienced this?

The issue I'm seeing seems to be CLAMAV failing the scan... a good example is attempting to use Microsoft Update to install Office 2003 SP2 ... fails everytime... I have to install it manually from a separate file I downloaded manually.

I have Kaspersky on with Clam Antivirus turn off for HTTP Proxy Scanner and still have problem with broken downloaded files via proxy. Only restart http proxy service helps on moments.

Let's somebody will tell me, when will be this update with fix?

Has someone tested the 6.103 with the Downloads?
I can't see any fixes from the HTTP Proxy about this case!
We have problems with some PDF downloads!

Helllo Folks,

there was a fix inside the last up2date but the problem reoccoured again last week.

We are working on a fix and looking forward for a fix as soon as possible which finally fixes that issue.

I don't have the AV license, but I've had similar issues with Symantec Enterprise Firewall 8.0. What I had to do there was create a separate network group with download sites I had heard of issues with. From there I built a rule for access to these sites with AV disabled.

I don't know if Astaro has such granularity where AV scanning can be turned off on a per rule basis, but if I does you might want to try that.
