[6.004] Low number of connections through proxy

Hi,

I'm getting complaints from users that the number of connections the proxy can make per minute is too low.

I did a test on speedtest.nl, using a 2Mb line:

- Through the Astaro proxy, I was able to make approx. 200 conn/min

- Tunneling the trafic around Astaro via SSH and tunneling the traffic through a diffrent proxy I was able to make approx. 950 conn/min

I find this difference rather large. Is there anyone who knows what causes this and what I need to do to improve performance?
