ASL 6.04 - Streaming Content

It seems that nothing I do short of turning off the HTTP proxy will allow ASL to allow streaming content through the firewall / proxy. Virus protection is the only HTTP Proxy / Surf Protection option enabled.

ASL will prompt me three times to log in when the content tries to stream. I assume it somehow fails and the video never streams. Any thoughts?

Ok, HTTP proxy is set to "User Authentication".

Is that the mode you are using?

And those sites are listed in my exception list for the content filter, even though the profile I am using has no blocked content. Virus Protection for the Web is turned on though.

I am using User Authentication, Anonymity none, Surf Protection On, no blocked sites, Virus Protection on, Nickjr.com in the whitelist for everyone.

I believe it has to do with User Auth. When I turn Transparent Mode on, it works. But I can't use Transparent Mode because the computer is shared.

I'm just asking. But why don't you just open the RTSP port for streaming?

Well, I guess that is a WORKAROUND. Seems like ASL has more and more of those each time I look.

Opening the ports would allow all users streaming content, which is not what we want.

Hello,

I use this in the "white list" :
\.(afx|asf|asx|au|avi|divx|m3u|mov|mp2|mp3|mpeg|mpg|qt|ra|ram|rm|viv|vivo|vob|vqf|wav|wma|wmv|vbs|shs)($|\?)

.... everything works fine (don't forget the paket filters)

When I try to paste the line below into my 6.04 "whitelist domains" (under "content filter") I get the error listed below:

PASTED LINE:

ERROR:
Sorry, this does not look like a valid domain name.

I'm sure I am missing something quite obvious, so please let me know.

whitelist you are talking about is for domains (hence the name). Maybe you would like to try entering the mentioned line into the whitelist of your profile?
