How to abort downloading?

Hello,

how is it possible to stop a download which is being done by the contenfilter. 
I see the progress window and cannot abort the download.

Even if I close the browser (IE) the download still runs.
Why isn´t there an option to stop the download?

    the download should automatically stop 30seconds after you close the IE window (or navigate away from the progress bar)

    no, i cannot give you an official statement (this is not the channel for such things) but i can give you some more info:

    unless there is a bug i am not aware of, the downloads are cancelled approx. 30 seconds after the window is closed. the exact time depends on he system load and the checking frequency (but it shouldn't vary more than a few seconds).

    hi, as far as i'm aware of (or my findings showed), this is not true for the v5, right? any way for the v5 to abort a download?

    Hi,

    last week I was trying to see some streaming video from a webcam, but I got nothing to see. So I left this, closed my browser and soon shut off my pc.
    The next day, I saw in the report traffic on my external interface for about 8 hour full load and now I got the invoice of my isp stating that I had 7,7 GB of traffic on that day.
    The logfile for http proxy showed the following lines:

    WARNING: preventing off_t overflow for http://webcam5.hrz.tu-darmstadt.de/mjpg/video.mjpg
    WARNING: closing FD 20 to prevent counter overflow.
    client 127.0.0.1
    received 2147418381 bytes

    So I could be happy(!), that the ASL closed the connection by itself to prevent an overflow.
    As far as I see it, there is no stop after about some seconds or minutes done by ASL after closing the browser.

    Interesting: the client is the localhost !

    I use ASL 6.100 and it happened on my home station with no flatrate. So it' not funny.

    That´s what I noticed, too!

    I use flatrate so it doesn ´t matter.
    But that topic should be examined by ASTARO. Think this is a bug!

    Same here - even with 6.101 the situation is not improved - after I started a really big download (DVD-ISO-Image)  the browser of my client died. I had to notice that the dsl-line was still very busy for a long time.

    In order to stop the download, I had to reboot the firewall to get the download canceled.

    Hope this will be fixed in the next up2date.

    It´s a possible risk ... everyone in a lab can "kill" the Internet line !
