transparent proxy and yum update

Hi.
I have problems with yum update from my fedora core 3 server behind an version 6.002 firewall running http proxy in transparent mode.
I keep getting a “[Errno -1] Header is not complete.” message when its downloading the header files.

I can’t see anything suspicious in the http-access log or the http-proxy log.

It works fine when disabling the proxy or if I exclude the server in the proxy settings.

Any suggestions on how I should to configure/fix that?

YUM will fail behind an http proxy.  If you are using v6 you can tell ASL to allows hosts to bypass the proxy.  If you are not using v6 turn off the http proxy when doing yum updates or yum will fail.  This is a known issue with YUM and AFAIK works this way by design.  This issue is one of the reasons i run v6.  I have my two linux machine(CentOS-4) to bypass the http proxy and cache the rest.

Good thing to know that I can't use yum behind the proxy.
I will bypass the proxy when I do the yum update.

Hello All I have the same problem,
When I run yum update [package]
I get Errno -1 Header is not complete

But I don't use a proxy, I am directlly connect on internet!!

I don't know what I can do??
Do you have an ideé!

try yum clean all
if that does not work then you ar most likely behind a proxy somewhere.  some ISP's run silent proxies to save on bandwidth.

I have test with yum clean all!
That change any thing!

But you need to know, I have test some ftp server on my repository like wu-ftp and ftpaix ( I use an aix server for the repository) and with wu-ftpd there is no problems but there is a security problems so I need to use ftpaix now!

And with the ftpaix there is this error but I don't know why !!

goto centos.org and post on the forums.  The lead developer for YUM is part of the CentOS team.  I am still thinking you have a hidden proxy at your isp but i could be wrong.
