[6.002] - flash movie being choked by ASL

Hi!

I have a problem with a flash movie which does not get displayed.
I think this problem has something to do with the transparent proxy which is enabled on my box.

Is it possible that files above a specific limit have to get downloaded via the ASL box directly - like with normal file downloads where I get a page displayed telling me ASL is downloading the file and after that I have to right-click the disk-symbol and save target as?

So does such a specific limit for a filesize exists, and, if yes, to how many bytes is it set - and - the most important thing - how can I change it?

My flash movie which doesn't get displayed in the webpage is about 1627185 bytes big.

Pls help!

Please post the url so we can test. As for some streaming media, astaro's virus scanner does hinder the seemlessness of some web applications. If you trust the site then put it in the domain whitelist and it will not be virus scanned. Then the movie should play without any hinderance.

Hi dyne1432,

thanx for the tip, now it's working. I whitelisted the domain.
If you want to have a look the URL is http://www.in-memory-of-metty.de .
Sorry that the the site is loading so slowly, it's only my adsl conn with 3072/512.

What is needed is a file extention white list - for example pdf. Users don't like the way the AV changes how this works. It used to pop up right away but with the AV engine running it downloads to the ASL, then scans it then hands it o the user. WANT Extention whitelist!!! Please

hi, maybe you can use the url whitelist for that purpose using a regexp like ".*.swf". Don't know if that works, I have no experience with regexp's. But maybe you can use the url whitelist... ;-)
