Is there something wrong with the virus protection

process? I get new virus updates every hour approx. Yes, I have the box ticked, but I wasn't expecting new virus patterns every hour all day.
i don't get that many from Norton, maybe a new pattern set every other day most times and occassionally every day.

    Every hour is the default.  You can make it every day or longer..but every day is the longest i would use.  I have mine set for every hour.

    How about turning off the emails for just the virus updates, unless one fails or doesn't update within x number of hours / days.

    I realise you can change all those parameters, that isn't the question. 
    The question is why is there a new virus pattern issued every hour, every day?

    because viruese are found worldwide at least hourly if not more.  It's good security policy to keep your a/v and security software up to date..up to the hour or even sooner if possible.  Astaro justt makes it easy to do.

    Hi,

    found yes, but the patterns are updated only one or two times per day, execpt there is a large brakeout.
    Astaro always pulls the daily package, even if it is the same.

    Astaro sends the image kaspersky sends out.  If there is a virus found kaspersky puts out a new image.  You can chane it to daily if you'd like.  IMO that's not a good idea..[:)]
