I'm currently using eDirectory authentication for our http proxy, and it works pretty well. However, it's rather annoying to have to enter a username and password every time you open IE, when gmail notifier first loads, or when I use any other application that retrives data from the internet via http. I'm using Novell's SecureLogin product on the workstations to store their Username/password. It will then automatically populate it for them when the authentication dialog appears. Well, this is the case for IE anyway. I've noticed that this program doesn't work well for all applications. OK, so onto my question. Is there a way to maybe integrate the novell client with the proxy authentication? How about an app that will handle this authentication for the user?
We used to use Novell Bodermanager (BM) before switching to ASL. With BM, there was a client piece that provided the proxy authentication for the user, so they didn't have to type ther credentials all the time.
Any thoughts, ideas, insight is greatly appreciated!
