VPN Connection Not Filtered

I have been using Astaro for a month or so and love it. However tonight I just noticed that if someone is logged into a PPTP VPN by windows networking then it seems to completely bypass the http proxy. For example is I log in as a filtered user and try to go to www.thewallpapers.com it gets blocked. Log into a VPN and it goes through fine. Any way to change this?

VPN's are encrypted and cannot be interecepted by the http proxy AFAIK.

The VPN traffic itself is encrypted and not filtered, but the HTTP request going back out should be in the clear. It sounds like VPN traffic that is destined for the external interface is bypassing the SP and VP scanning.
