SQUID-Statistics via SNMP not available

I try to collect squid's cacheHttpHits & cacheProtoClientHttpRequests with mrtg/rrdtool via squids built-in snmp agent. The agent dosn't respond for my requests. I added a packet filter rule, that allows snmp from my statistics server to squids snmp port (3401/udp) but... no response

How could I collect these squid statistics?

    I am glad to see that I am not the only one who would like to have the Squid performance graphs back that we lost when upgrading from v4 to v5.

    In v5 there is no way to help yourself either, because Astaro replied to me that SNMP support is not compiled into v5's Squid, and that they won't compile it into v5 but eventually into the next release v6, see this  thread  about how to verify.

    I have had no time to try v6beta (5.800) yet, and I hope that SNMP in Squid is at least enabled there. Otherwise, please help me to "lobby" for it in the Beta forum  [:)]
