Can anybody offer any advice for this situation?
I have Astaro 5.2 on a 700Mhz P-III with 384 MB RAM
It is a home setup and there are never more than two users at a time.
Astaro is set up for standard proxying with content protection turned on.
If I turn on "Virus Protection for Web", I get to view a few web pages (maybe 2-4) before it locks up. Then, after about 5 minutes the browser times out and I can view a couple more pages. (Browser is IE 6.0.28...)
If I uncheck the Virus Protection option everything works fine.
If I check it again, the problem reoccurs.
During the lockups, "top" shows the cpu as 97% idle and the load average starts heading towards zero.
It doesn't help to click the "stop" button on the browser and try again. Or click the refresh button. For some reason it seems to have to wait the full 5 minutes.
But if, during the lockup, I stop the browser, uncheck then re-check the virus scan, then go back and click the refresh button, I get to see a couple more pages right away.
Turning the spyware block on or off doesn't seem to have any impact.
Up2dates report no errors.
Any suggestions would be most welcomed.
Thank you,
Rich
