ftp downloads no sacnned by http proxy?

If i downlaod the eicar virus testfile per http the virus scannner found the virus, everything is ok. But i if download the same eicar testfile the per ftp in a browser (IE 6.0.2800) i can save without any notification or quarantine from the http proxy! But the help button in http proxy configuration says that the proxy scanns http and ftp traffic. What' s wrong? Using ASL 5.103

    Make sure there is no packetfilter rule for FTP, to be sure the proxy is not bypassed by a packet filter rule. Also note you have to use a browser to be able to scan FTP for viruses. A FTP client is not able to show the download progress bar. Sometimes this leads to an error. So use a browser.
    Also note HTTP Proxy can not process FTP in transparent mode. You have to make sure FTP proxy is set in your browser manually.
