We are using HTTP proxy with RADIUS authentication and always have since version 4.0 of Astaro.
The last few Astaro updates have included “Improvement to Proxy Performance when using Authentication”. These have had a detrimental affect on our systems.
We only Use HTTP proxy, we don’t have any Intrusion Protection, Surf Protection or Virus Protection and there is an average load on the system of 9%.
When a user logs onto Astaro they are prompted to enter there username and password. Astaro checks with Radius, which checks with Active Directory and authenticates. With a correct password the user gains access. Until recently……
Now when a user logs on after they Authenticate correctly, they are asked again to Authenticate, and again, and again….. to infinity. If you cancel any of the subsequent attempts you receive the standard failure response from Astaro. Pressing the refresh button or using the same session grants access to the Internet using the previously authenticated credentials (No further Authentication requests)
Now to complicate matters further, once a user has logged on to the internet successfully and tries to change to a different website, using the same session the process above starts again.
I am hoping a moderator will pick up on this thread, it appears recent uptodates are seriously damaging the system. We are using this system in a business environment with almost 100 users and really need this addressed.
Has anybody else experienced similar issues and perhaps managed to resolve them?
