http proxy user authentication - probs with opera

I just upgraded from ASL 4.023 to 5.023 yesterday.

Using http proxy user authentication (anonymity none), now we are having problems with authentication on all OPERA browsers. We are using opera 6 on linux thin clients and opera 7.2/7.5 on W2K PCs.
All opera browsers cannot authenticate on proxy anymore, message is like "proxy server requested a login authentication method that is not supported". Other browsers (firefox, IE) work fine.

Can I change behaviour of squid or something else anywhere?
Can someone see the same problems???

    hi there,

    i have realized the same problem with opera browsers. seems that there is no patch for now. i switched back to v5.17 but this is due to a lot of other issues.

    new experience:

    after updating to ASL 5.024 and rebooting both systems, http proxy auhtentication with all versions of opera browsers does work well again.

    bce, does this solve your problems, too?

    like i pm-ed you, i'm still @v5.017 due to the permanent service restarts and i'm afraid to become an angry dude with an offline box again ........ maybe i'll try v5.73 when it soon comes out and becomes stable finaly ;-)
