Network can't connect, when enable VP!!

Hi,
I have a serious problem with virus protection. I already installed ASL at my university gateway. When I try to enable VP in HTTP Content filter, network very slow, slows and down. When I saw in reports graph, it informed me that CPU load very high (maximum: 6.29). So, I must disable it for operating correctly.

I use ASL 5.018 with Dual Xeon 3.06G, 4G RAM, 3x72G with RAID5. My networks have average concurrent connection about 8000 per day (max: 30,000 per day).

Please help me!! (sorry for my language)

try to install Up2Date 5.018.

try using the single (classic) kernel. sometimes the results are better (don't ask me why) than with the SMP kernel.
