[5.011] HTTP Proxy and Web Anti Virus Protection ?

Hi !

I was surprised yesterday that the HTTP Web Antivirus protection not working ... I tried to download a real virus compressed in RAR file for test use but ASL let me download it and does not detect it as a virus ....

Why ??

    was the virus one that is known to the kaspersky engine?  if not then it would not be detected.

    Do you have a packet filter that allows http traffic through? This could also cause the file to bypass the scanner. Also what HTTP mode are you running?

    If it was a test file what site did you use. Sometimes these sites test engines with part of a virus code. This does nothing and proves nothing. If it was a test virus I know ASL would have blocked it. I have done alot of testing with numerous sites from Trend Micro to testvirus.org. And ASL nailed the test virus every time.
