ftp not possible in user authentication mode

hi folks,
i´ve settup the http proxy to user authentication mode and have choosen nt/2000/xp server as authentication method.
if i request a site, i´ll be asked for user[:P]ass. i fill that informations in and it works. But if i try a ftp site or a link to a ftp download i get again and again a user authentication request and it doesn´t work. on cancel i get a Cache Access Denied.

is it a bug or what did i wrong? [:S]

but i found out that downloading files (about 650mb) ends unsuccsessfully with "virus detected" or "content would not be downloaded" after 80% or near that.

did you run out of hd space on the /var/storage partition? the downloaded files are stored there (and they may be stored multiple times for decoding and scanning purposes) so maybe large files simply don't fit?

i´ve been try another download.
file was downloaded 100% -> /var/storage showed 65%
scann process had started and after 5 minutes -> file is infected.
but i´m downloading ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/live-eval-8.1/SuSE-8.1-LiveEval-i386.iso

and recive:
Content Blocked

The item you have requested is infected by a virus. It will not be downloaded.

and i can´t belive that there´s a virus.
could it be a performance problem?
i realized that by a friend of mine, he´s running v5 on a p233 with a 10gig hdd. i had tried to download a 20mb file. the download had worked but the scann also stopped with the infection message (by the way it was an up2date file).

The problem is not in the proxy but in the virus scanner, it chokes on a file that large. Try disabling the virus protection for certain profile (a different user name maybe?) and download ISOs with that. Other solution ofcourse is to upgrade the HW. The AV option for HTTP is very HW intensive. We will try to make it more low-end HW friendly in the next Up2Date.

a whitelist entry for the domain you are trusting would prevent the AV from starting so maybe the request goes trough OK.
