!!! ASL 5 Proxy dies !!!

Hello,

just a new problem with V5.006.
Today my transparant proxy died. A simple disable/enable on WebAdmin doesn´t solve the problem. So later tonight i have to reboot the machine ´cause my exmployees still work ! 

What can this be? What´s going wrong? I didn´t see anything at the logs. Where can I search for the error?

    Hello Andy,

    I finally found the "bad boy". It was the dns_resolver which didn´t run anymore! But a simple reboot didn´t solve the problem. Actually I can make DNS lookups but the proxy doesn´t run. I get an timout by surfing any sites.
    So I decided to backup and reinstall [:(]
    At the moment I fetch the updates. Hope that was first and last time! For me at home it isn´t such a big problem but at the moment there is a testing phase at an potential ne customer with V5. Even these errors make new customers angry.....

    Is there any fix for this as it appears to be the problem with the proxy in Standard mode too. See related threads in this forum. So DNS resolution errors? Expected fix timeframe?

    the dns_resolver and the proxies do not need each other... dns_resolver is only used for resolving hostnames (Definitions->Networks) which wouldn't make sense when using a transparent proxy.

    Hello Marcel,

    so I had 2 problems. The Sender Adress Verification did´n work also. I Thought cause of that the proxy was unable to resolve the hostname. I thought the proxy uses the dns_resolver also ?!

    By the way... I restarted the dns_resolver but the proxy didn´work anymore. Even a reboot didn´t work for me.

    Hello again!

    Now it´s second time that my proxy didn´t answer . Same for Mailproxy.

    The BadBoy is the DNS Proxy !!! 
    In his logfile it pretends running, but no DNS resolution works.
    I tried a PING Check ... no response.
    So i restarted the DNS Proxy and all works fine.

    What´s up? Tonight I will upgrade to 5.007. Hope this will work for me...

    Can anybody from ASTARO say something to my problem?

    I checked the logfile for DNS Proxy.

    In WebAdmin it seems running
