Currently running UTM 9.501-5.
Running into an issue with accessing the User Portal and then downloading the utility to install and launch the Remote Access VPN IPSEC pool. Worked wonderfully in the past, but I have not used it in many months because I have not been "in the field". Now when I tried to reach my User Portal at https://website:443, I am getting timeouts and "secure connection failed" on all the latest browsers. None will play nice (FF, Chrome, MSIE 11).
Its not a Webadmin/User Portal access priv issue. Its got something to do with the SSL/Cert I think.
I set this cert/remote access/ipsec stuff up many years ago -- in fact 2009 seems to be the date on my existing certificate -- yet I dont quite remember what I did back then to install/generate/create the certificate. Whether I did some sort of self-sign or uploaded my web site's Verisign (Symantec) cert or whatever. Im wondering if since I set this up many years ago, this cert no longer plays nice with browsers because it use TLS and other tools. Perhaps I need to issue a new cert to fix the accessibility issue with the User Portal? I have no issue reaching the WedAdmin on :4444, though that may be because its :4444 or I added an exception in my browser long ago.
Obviously, I cannot download the SSL Client and install/use it on my laptop until I get in to Remote Access.
Am I on the right track as far as a possible diagnosis of this problem, and if what is the remedy. Like I said I last set this stuff up 8-9yrs ago so Im not going to be able to remember exactly what I did. If someone could walk me through it and really dumb it down to a third grade level, I would appreciate.
If my issue is something else entirely, please shed light. Right now Im just trying to connect to things locally on the LAN at https://192.168.0.1 so its not a network/routing issue either. Its gotta be something SSL/authentication/browser related? What was set up and worked fine 8yrs ago no longer plays nice?
Thanks in advance. I need to get this resolved by Monday because I will be traveling through 17 states and Canada and need access back to the mothership.
