Would you recommend the SSL VPN client with Win 10?

Just setting up our new SG210 prior to deploying it as our new gateway. Ideally I would like to give remote VPN access via the SSL client however I understand that there are some issues for Windows 10 users (currently not supported for the built in Sophos client), which can involve updating the TAP driver or setting default routes.

I was just wondering what the current state of play and if anyone else is using the SSl client for windows 10? if they find it reliable once it is working and any recommendations on setting clients up?

I understand that L2TP/ IPSEC is supported using the windows client however this requires a radius server which I'd rather not setup if I can avoid it.

Many thanks

  • Hi, Chris, and welcome to the UTM Community!

"I only got concerned when it wasn't listed in the user portal."

On the 'Advanced' tab of 'Management >> User Portal', a check mark disables the Portal item.

As you're new to the UTM, you might want to consider The Zeroeth Rule in Rulz.
