Hello, we are preparing to upgrade our UTM 9 to the latest firmware this weekend - v9.405-5. We are upgrading from v9.356-3.
In the 9.356-3 version, the OpenVPN client version that gets installed through the User Portal is v2.3.0.0. That is rather old by OpenVPN standards, as they are currently on v2.3.12.
I can see that firmware 9.405-5 includes the package "client-openvpn-9.40-14.gada5e18.rb2.noarch.rpm " but I am unable to identify what is in the package, or if it even contains an updated client.
Could someone that has already updated to 9.405-5 please confirm the OpenVPN client version that comes with this firmware? To do so, go to your User Portal and download the custom .exe package from the UTM. Then, without installing it (or do install, if you don't mind) - use a tool like 7zip to extract the files and check the version of the file located at:
\bin\openvpn.exe
If you have already installed the client from firmware 9.405-5, you can check the version on your system at this location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Sophos\Sophos SSL VPN Client\bin\openvpn.exe
(To check the version, right-click and then Properties -> Details)
Lastly, if a new client version is included with firmware 9.405-5 -- does anyone know if it is REQUIRED to upgrade the client? Our users do not have administrative privileges and I'd like to know if older clients will still work or not.
Thanks in advance!
