Uplink Balancing > l2tp over ipsec

Dear Folks,

I do use uplink balancing with two different isp's with multipath rules in load balanced mode for my local users which works great

BUT ;-)

What is if I need to load balance between my isp's for my Vpn Users > L2tp over Ipsec - Is there a common way to do it ?

  • Hi,

Are you trying to Load Balance the internet requests from connected clients through different ISP or you are looking to load balance the L2TP connection?

Load Balance of L2TP connection is not possible and alongside, to load balance internet requests from L2TP clients thorugh UTM you just need a Firewall rule and a NAT with uplink balancing.

    Thanks

  • Sachin, I may be wrong, but I don't think that's his question...

About the only inexpensive way to load balance incoming connections is with "round-robin" DNS where you have the FQDN resolve to two IPs - one on the connection to one ISP and another on the connection to the other ISP.  If you want strict round-robin DNS, there are services that provide that relatively inexpensively.
