Dear Folks,
I do noticed a pretty slow throughput for remote up and download actions....First I thought l2tp over ipsec slows all down, so I tried a ssl vpn where the performance was equal as bad. The next step was to test up and download without vpn at all, just dnat- This was equal as bad. So I thought it is maybe a issue with the isp or host itself, double checked both but the host operates as he should with great up and download speed.
All tests was performed without Qs , idp, avirus, proxy, advance threat, etc. + the network was not under load at all !
Here are my specs.
fw. poweredge r320 / utm 9.404-5
internet. uplink balanced > 1. 16mbps synchronous 2. 250mbps / 25mbps asynchronous
ISSUE >>> dnat & l2tpoveripsec & ssl vpn initially starts with 2,2MB/s which is ok but then pretty quickly it goes down to 220 kb/s which is ridiculously slow.
The main intention or problem occurs for our road warriors who connects via l2tpoveripsec to the internal smb server....here the situation is a bit different but bad as well- All up and download operations start and stuck around 200kb/s !!!
I tried a lot of different things (changed the priority and weight at up-link balancing, etc, etc. ) without success...I really do not have an idea where the heck the problem is.
Does everybody has a hint or idea?
