Hello,
I am using ASL 6.311 and I discovered a strange problem with an L2TP road warrior today. IPSec SA is established, the cert is accepted and evrything seems okay for the IPSec/L2TP connection, but RADIUS auth returns the following error:
2008:02:20-11:28:32 (none) pppd-l2tp[22798]: RADIUS: wrong service type 4 for MichaelR
2008:02:20-11:28:32 (none) pppd-l2tp[22798]: Peer MichaelR failed CHAP authentication
2008:02:20-11:28:32 (none) pppd-l2tp[22798]: Connection terminated.
The strange thing is: I did not change a thing in the configuration of the ASL (cert creation, IPSec policy, client config etc.). Just a few days ago, another new IPSec connection via L2TP worked well with the exact same config. The setup is:
- Windows XP SP2 Client connects via L2TP/IPSec with cert from ASL
- ASL6 opens VPN connection using 3DES policy (no other features activated - this is our default policy for windows clients)
- RADIUS auth with Windows Server 2003 domain controller
Does anyone have any idea about the cause?
Thanks
Tilman
