Undocumented IPSec failover over Internet

Bob mentioned an undocumented failover option for IPSec that would allow failover of an IPSec vpn over the Internet. 

This sounds like it may solve a problem I am having and I want to know more!

    Sam, I just discovered Sophos UTM multiple S2S IPsec VPN mit Failover – Tutorial on a blog in German when I went there to look at another unique solution he had.  The cooler thing about the two tunnels is that you can use Multipath rules or Policy Routes and take advantage of both tunnels simultaneously.

    I'm exchanging emails with the blogger and the guy at Sophos in charge of the User BB, KnowledgeBase and the new user communities.  He and his superiors liked my suggestion about a wiki, so that's where the post will first be translated from German - hopefully in the very near future.  In the meantime, you might get enough out of it as the screenshots are all with WebAdmin in English.
