I need to give a developer access to Cassandra for a short period of time. Can the Amazon UTM allow this? For example, when the user connects to the Sophos SSL VPN, they are allowed access to my cassandra servers for 60 minutes.

You can give access to whatever you need to. There isn't a means on the UTM to automatically disconnect a VPN connection after a period of time though.
