UTM <IPSec> Netgear DGFV338

Hi

We have our UTM 9 connected with static public IP in respond mode.

We have a remote office with ADSL Dynamic IP Netgear DGFV338 router.

The IPSec works well when configured.
Until when the modem is reset or power is cycled. In which case the netgear shows connected but the UTM shows it is not.
Then when i manually turn off the connection in the UTM (from green to grey) and then back on to green. Then the connection is re-established.

I do have dead peer detection turned on.

Please advise any solutions?

Many thanks!

  • This sounds like a problem with the Netgear.  I don't know whether this is a regular shortcoming or if there's a setting.

I bet that device is capable of DynDNS, so you can get an FQDN for the Netgear.  You can use that in a DNS Host definition as the Gateway in a UTM "Initiate Connection" Remote Gateway.

    Cheers - Bob
