Outgoing PPTP VPN (and GoogleDrive) not connecting via UTM9.2 on ESXi5.5

I setup the UTM 9.2 as a VM on VMware 5.5. All functionality works except outgoing PPTP VPN using the MS Client on Win8.1Pro to a SBS2011 remote server. When clicking a VPN connection it hangs at checking credentials. GoogleDrive will not connect either.
The setup is Desktop - UTM9.2 - Cablemodem - to Remote site

Settings:
Internal Network - Any - External Network
Firewall - Advanced  Connection Tracking for PPTP enabled

I did try GRE in and out without success.

Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, Johannes, and welcome to the User BB!

    Instead of "External (Network)" in your firewall rule, you want the "Internet" object.

    If that doesn't resolve your issue, please consult #1 in Rulz.

    Hello and thank you. The suggestion did not work.
    Here's what I did:
    1. Started over with out of box image
    2. Setup basic rules and connected WAN and LAN. Connection Tracking for PPTP is turned on.
    3. Client machines can browse, Office 365 connects, Netflix works, Skype works.
    4. PPTP VPN outgoing will not connect and nor does Google Drive.

    I reviewed full logs. Neither the destination IP appears in the logs nor does 1723. Please see the enclosed image for all firewall rules.

    Thank you, I am still wondering if running this on VMWare 5.5 has anything to do with it, maybe not having the right NIC driver?

    Hello Johannes, 

    it could be that there is something missing for PPTP. Could you please try to add the IP Protokoll 47 GRE (Generic Routing Encapsulation) to your firewall rule?

    RESOLVED: The issue was with the ESXi 5.5 and the fact that I had created the Sophos UTM VM using the E1000 Adapter. I created a new VM but this time using a VMXNET3 Adapter. A now outgoing PPTP VPN and even Google Drive work as advertised.
