Currently, I'm performing offsite backup to ibm softlayer.
there are basically two options to connect.
a) a paid ipsec vpn option at ($127/mth)
b) pptp.
c) ssl vpn (via their array networks gateway) basically this gives an client side installation exe that I run on my pc to setup the tunnel.
I can't seem to get the "configuration file" to act as a ssl client from their gateway login page. so that's out

right now, my solution is having the backup server auto login and establish the vpn via startup script using pptp. (ie: rasdial "vpn connection" username password) which should be fine as long as no one logs out the current user. (which by right, should never happen unless i get fat fingered or something).
this to me seems inelegant, I'm wondering if sophos utm can act as a client and initiate the pptp connection instead.
