My customer has a main office and a branch office. They are connected through a site-to-site vpn using a RED in transparent/split mode.
The Network range in the main office is 192.168.1.0/24
The Network range in the branch office is 192.168.42.0/24
The operating systems are based on Microsoft Windows.
The computers in the branch office are connected to the domain controller. The firewall is open between the main and the branch office.
Since the RED is configured to work in transparent/split mode, the computers in the branch office get their IPs from the local router. The downside is, that they don't register themselves in the domain controllers DNS.
Is there a way to use DHCP by the local router and also have the hostnames/IP addresses be registered in the DNS of the domain controller in the main office?
