Site 2 site ssl vpn at specific times

Is there a way to have site 2 site ssl vpn connect at specific times and for specific duration?

I wish to have my active directory at one site connect for replication at another site. That connection is a very costly one so I wish to only have it up for as little time as possible.

Ideas?

    I suppose you could use Uplink monitoring with a custom monitoring host and one or more firewall rules that drop traffic based on a Time Event... maybe in combination with a SNAT.  If you get a solution that works, please document it here.
