SSL VPN Client / Slowperformance

Hello,

we're using UTM 9.004-33 and we connect our outside people via the integrated ssl vpn client to the utm. The user only us RDP-Protocol and the performance of the connection is very slow. When a use type some letters it's appearing seconds later. This is not an issue about the connected servers.

  • Agreed with William - this feels like a NIC problem.  The SSL VPN is much faster if configured with UDP instead of TCP, but this isn't causing the slowness you describe.

  • Hi William,

we have around 40 users which are using ssl vpn, but normally, approximatly there're around 20 User simultaneously online. It's a custom build. We've diffenrent upload bandwith starting from 2 MBit up to 80 Mbit. Our investigations have the result, that this issue is problem with WIN7.
  • oh wait..yeah UAC does cause various network performance issues..i always disable UAC..[:)]

  • Hi To all,

yesterday evening we solved the problem. We changed, the settings of the used port, then we change from tcp to udp. And at the end we changed everything as it was before the made changes. Now our lines are running great.
  • Can you list specific details of what finally worked - to help out others with the same problem?

    Much appreciated [:)]

    Regards,
  • Hi,
we changed under Remote Access->SSL->Settings the field protocol to udp, then we change the port to 1443, and at the end of our tests we discharged all changes.

    This worked for us
